3TEETH : "EndEx"

Given the current state of the world The Los Angeles based band has been very consistent and this album, builds off that base with no really wild turns stylistically as the industrial strength grooves are pumping the life blood of their sound to these songs. The opening track keeps things more dystopian than "Acme Death Machine" that hammers with the chugged weight of Meshuggah into a arrangement that blends nu-metal with metal core in terms of aggression. "Slum Planet" marches out a bleak anthem with a creepy narrative when not preaching it's gospel. "What's  Left"  finds the vocals shoving the point home, with grooves that hold up against the best bands like Static X dished out in their late 90s heydays. These guys shift very fluidly a wide range of post-apocalyptic sonic colors thanks to the versatility of the vocals.

Things stay in the dark corners of industrial rock with "Merchant of the Void". It flexes the kind of dynamics you might expect from this sort of thing, but the crunch of cyborg distortion over guitars and synths in equal doses. "Higher Than Death" is one of the most melodic moments from the band to date once it reaches the chorus. It does not compromise who they are so, there is little worry in regards to these guys selling out. "Ali3n" finds them exploding into a more metallic bounce. Sure it owes more to nu metal, than other sub-genre's but it's done in the best way possible. Ho99o9 joins them on "Paralyze". This pretty much just amounts to a rapped verse. Never been into Ho99o9 , but they seem to work better in collaborative efforts rather than being left to their own devices, so this plays to their favor.

"Scorpion" is one of the stronger songs on this album, it picks up where the previous song left off and take it in a direction that feels like building are falling down as it is cranked out. "Drift" finds their more melodic side rising up again, the vocals reminds me of 80s Pink Floyd. They close the album out with a cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". Sure there version  but Tears For Fears are one one of my favorite bands and the vocals in that song are so iconic, to deviate from it, because you don't want to hit the high notes due to range or whatever other reason a band might come up with, which I am stuck on not being able to hit them as the only one that makes sense, any way it's ok but not the album's best moment.  However as a whole the album is excellent and chances are you won't get hung up on the cover like I do, so I will give it an 9.5, the only competition they have is Code Orange, aside from that they are in a league of their own.
