A thundering wall of double bass sets "Permanent Storage Down Below" into motion. The low rasp of the vocals works well as the song's narrative, though things speed into a more rapid-fire storm. "Heading For Afterlife" carries a dense barrage with double propelling it more conventionally, a slight Morbid Angel vibe, though not as much as the second song. "Chasm of Atonment" finds them hammering into the barrage of double bass, which carries over into the title track that is less dynamic and pretty much just a blur of in-your-face guitar buzzing at you.
To the band's credit, they do keep their songs under the six-minute mark. In fact, only one breaks the five-minute mark. They slow things down and regain their footing for "In the Maze of Maleboge. The buzz starts off in a static buzz, and the drums steer the ship. They blast off again toward the middle of the song. They do assault you with some interesting sounds as things progress. 'Awakened From Beyond' closes out the album. It starts off with a more sludge-infused stomp before they lock into their own thing with this. I will give this album a 9 and see how it grows on me, as far as death metal goes, it's not the hookiest album, but sonically often more interesting than most.
